Amaya Steensma
Amaya works with design, strategy, and process consulting that put life and place at the center. She brings in degrowth and ecological thinking to support democratic, eco-social, and grassroots projects and businesses. In her free time, she helps run Transfer.CPH, an urban rewilding research space and community garden.
She holds a joint MA in Strategic Design and Entrepreneurship from the Royal Danish Academy and Copenhagen Business School. Her background includes over a decade of design and research across many fields. She has worked with ecosystem regeneration, circular design, bio-materials, biodiversity, and eco-social entrepreneurship. She has also been involved in teaching, critical design practice, and activism in mutual-aid, community organisation and guerrilla rewilding.
Amaya is drawn to collective work on fair and viable futures. She believes change comes through connecting people, places, and more-than-humans, with care, curiosity, and collaboration at the core.
