We live in a time of interconnected crises. Climate change, biodiversity loss, inequality and democratic disempowerment are not isolated challenges. They are connected to the systems, institutions and values that shape our societies.

We believe meeting these challenges requires more than technological solutions and incremental change. We need to develop alternatives to the systems driving unsustainability, strengthen the people working to change them, and build collective power around new directions for society.

Tomorrow Collective works with this through three interconnected areas: utopias and collective imagination, coalition building, and schools for changemakers and social entrepreneurs.

Imagining alternatives

To change society, we need to be able to imagine how it could be different.

We work with utopias, long-term thinking and collective imagination to develop desirable alternatives to the status quo. We create spaces where people can step beyond the constraints of the present and explore radically different ways of living, working and organising society.

For us, utopias are not blueprints for a perfect society. They are tools for making the present less inevitable. By making desirable futures concrete enough to discuss, disagree about and develop together, they can help create direction for change.

And because questions about the future of society are fundamentally democratic questions, imagining alternatives should not be left to experts and decision-makers alone.

Building movements and coalitions

Systemic change does not happen through isolated efforts.

Across civil society, organisations and movements, many people are already working towards profound social and ecological transformation. But their efforts are often separated by sectors, organisations and individual political agendas.

We work to connect these efforts.

Through coalition building, facilitation and co-creation, we bring people and organisations together to identify shared ambitions, develop common directions and build collaborations across existing boundaries.

We don’t expect everyone to agree on everything. Instead, we are interested in where different struggles and ambitions intersect – and how shared visions can help individual organisational efforts become part of something larger.

Strengthening changemakers

Transformation also depends on the people trying to make it happen.

Through our schools and learning programmes for changemakers and social entrepreneurs, we create spaces for people to develop the skills, perspectives, relationships and confidence needed to work with value based and cooperative based entrepenurships. .

The schools are also spaces for building relationships between people working for change. Learning happens not only through teaching, but through experimentation, reflection and the exchange of experiences across projects and movements.

Schools strengthen the people who can help take us there.

Across all three, we work with the same fundamental question: how can we enable deeper and more democratic transformations towards societies where people can thrive within planetary boundaries?

We don’t claim to know exactly what those societies should look like. Our role is to help create the imagination, capacity and collective power needed to explore and build them.

Tomorrow is something we make together.

Our daily work is inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of five historical movements, rooted in both Danish and international contexts:

• The co-operative movement, new business models.
• The Danish Folk Highschool movement, new democratic and cultural enlightenment.
• The Labour movement, international solidarity and collective action.

• The climate movement, a new perspective on the interconnectedness of nature, people, and society.
